UGANDA ON A LOCKDOWN

Just over a week ago, President Museveni announced another 42 day lockdown, here in Uganda. While lockdown affects the economy tremendously, it also impacts the school systems and families. If you’ve been following along for the past months, you know that our kids have slowly been returning to school and a renewed sense of consistency. But last weeks announcements, brought everything to an abrupt halt.

Over the next weeks we will keep you updated, as our community continues to push forward. Families have again lost work & access to incomes that they just started to regain, children are back home and wandering the villages and most in-country traveling is restricted or banned altogether.

As we search for solutions— we consider; community food distribution, homework packets for students and opening up the farm work at the ECAFUg site to additional temporary laborers, to supplement incomes for families and young people in our communities. If this is a way you’d like to partner with us- please reach out and let us know.
